Pom poms, googly eyes, glues, and glitters galore! Pipe cleaners of every color, pretty patterned washi tapes, stick-on gemstones! No, you didn’t take a wrong turn and end up at the craft store – it’s even better. Come to CAMP, and we’ll set you up with the crafts, the supplies, and the know-how to create with personalized attention from our craftiest Counselors.

Choose any craft you’d like, from ceramics to wooden toys and even DIY totes. You’ll have access to an all-you-can-dream buffet of craft and art supplies from our art studio on wheels.

Friendship Bracelets 

Friendship Bracelet Kit (recommended for ages 3+):

Instructions and Safety:

  • Cut 5 15 inch elastic strings per kit
  • Prepare each jar with ½ cup of pony beads, 5 strings and a mix of other beads according to kits 1, 2 and 3
  • Campers will choose their pack of letters 
  • Offer scissors to Campers crafting in-store and wash them after every use 
  • To-Go Kits - ½ cup of rainbow beads and a mix of the other beads - close the jar. Add a pack of alphabet letters in the gable box, 1 tray and a Branded Instruction Guide.

DIY Night Lights

DIY Night Light (MARKERS - recommended for ages 2+ // PAINT - recommended for ages 4+)

Supplies:

  • 1 paper mache night light 
  • 2 AA batteries
  • 1 Rainbowsome text

Instructions and Safety 

  • Remove the star or rainbow from the package 
  • Pre-kit all supplies above in a gable box (we recommend using paint for the rainbow and markers for the star)
  • Important: If the Camper chooses to paint, do not use water and only paint the paper mache parts

Staff Responsibilities 

Manager POC: 
  • Inventory Count. Ensure cabin is properly stocked and organized. Replenish accordingly
  • Ensure craft projects are pre-kit each day
  • Maintain cleanliness and daily checklist
  • Align each craft project with a book or playful activity
  • Ensure your Camp Counselors are properly trained to deliver the Craft Cabin experience
Head Counselor: 
  • Tour Campers in the craft cabin and encourage their selection
  • Provide materials, guidance and inspiration
  • Ensure safety
  • Engage in play after project is completed
  • Add their name. Provide packaged product after dry

Daily Prep/ Set Up Details
  • Pre-kit 2-3 of each craft 
  • Maintain cleanliness throughout the day.
  • Wash brushes, wipe down space, refill supply containers, clean trays and reset space before closing out for the night
  • Inventory count. Make sure you are well stocked for the coming weeks. Place an order for anything running low.

Ceramics and Wooden Toys
  • Read a story that ties back to the project they created
  • Create a certificate of adoption for your new toy. Include its name, age, and super power!
Superhero Cape
  • When Campers complete their cape, put on the demo cape and have some fun! “What superpowers do you have?!” or “Let’s fly!!” 
  • Superhero training! Run an obstacle course in superhero capes. Get physical, silly and fun!
My Cuddly BFF 
  • Great option for 2+
  • “What’s your favorite animal?” or “What are you going to call your new cuddly BFF?!” 
  • Create a certificate of adoption for your cuddly bff. Include its name, age, and super power!
Drawstring Bag 
  • Have the camper walk the “catwalk” and show off their masterpiece. “It’s time for a fashion show!”
  • Pack your drawstring bag with everything you need for your next (imaginary) adventure
Umbrella Decorating 
  • Grab the demo umbrella and splash in “puddles” around the experience like a silly parade
  • Great craft to do together as a family!
Friendship Bracelets
  • Write a letter home to your best friend, just like you do at Camp! 
  • Read a story about friendship

ABP - Always be partying! What sets Camp activities apart from any other craft project is our commitment to creating an experience around it. More important than the project itself is the interaction with the Camp Counselors guiding it!  Seasons, holidays and birthdays can help transform any old activity into one that is playful, celebratory, special, unique and fun!

HOLIDAYS (FALL - WINTER)

  • Provide holiday colors and glitter. Holiday colors are deep reds, greens, blues, gold, and silver.
  • Add or replace decorative elements with holiday-themed decor (snowflakes, christmas trees, candles, ornaments, etc)
  • Add seasonal ceramics and wooden toys to your collection
  • Make snow globes out of seasonal materials and mason jars
  • Encourage gifting for loved ones back home
  • Create holiday cards
  • Be inclusive of all holidays (Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, etc.)
  • Decorate your cabin!
  • Holidays create endless opportunities to celebrate and learn together! Build a calendar of holidays that may be celebrated by guests from around the world and find ways to customize projects based on these times of year! Find books or stories online to help bring these special days to life. Avoid sharing details that are overtly religious.

SPRING BREAK

  • Provide springy colors and glitter. Spring colors are pastel pinks, blues, greens, yellows and purples
  • Add or replace decorative elements with spring-themed decor (easter eggs, passover, etc.)

SUMMER HOLIDAY

  • Provide summer colors and glitter. Summer colors are bright yellows, blues, greens, pinks and orange.  
  • Add or replace decorative elements with summer-themed decor (sun, surf, beach, sport, etc.)
  • Add seasonal ceramics and wooden toys to your collection
  • Lean into all things tie dye!
  • Decorate your cabin!

BE PREPARED TO CELEBRATE BIRTHDAYS

  • Have special supplies, treats and experiences ready for Campers who happen to be celebrating their birthday at Camp this week (or month!). Throw a birthday party!

  • Source LARGE canvases to create a group mural each week. Before kicking off individual art projects, start with group projects. Inspire CAMPers to work together and create a colorful, collective work of art that represents who they are, where they are and what they most want to remember from their time at CAMP!
